A black wolf trots across frozen Mendenhall Lake on Monday near Skates Cabin.
The wolf has been seen roaming around the lake and its environs for the past
year. Although the animal has been seen playing with pet dogs and even
approaching hikers and skiers, officials advise any who see the wolf to keep
their distance.
