Poacher's Trap Not Only Killed a Dog,
it Devastated a Family

Letters / Anchorage Daily News / March 20, 2005

I am writing in response to the article about the illegal trapping of a family pet owned by Mel Strauch and Suzanne Moore ("Trap's victim," March 9). This is not an isolated incident: This also happened to my father's dog and a friend's dog. When you look at the picture in the paper of Mel and Suzanne, it is evident they lost much more than a "family pet." They lost a best friend.

I hope a trapper will think twice about setting a Conibear trap near hiking trails that people and their pets frequent. Not only did he kill a dog, he devastated a family.
