Grizzly Bear Control Program Begins in Interior

Chris Joy / KTUU-TV2 / April 3, 2005

Anchorage, Alaska - As the bears begin to wake up around Alaska, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game is now taking applications for a grizzly bear control program in the Interior.

The program is intended to boost moose populations in game unit 20e. Females and cubs are off limits to hunters.

The state says the hunt will last until June 30 or until the quota of 81 bears is met.
