Alaska's Wild Animals Deserve Our Kindness

Letters / Anchorage Daily News / February 21, 2007

The State of Alaska needs to ease up on the killing of Alaska wildlife in a variety of ways, such as shortening hunts and buckling down on poachers.

Ancient and inhumane steel-jawed traps are a torturous way of capturing animals that are only looking for food to survive. This is a misuse of people power.

Gov. Sarah Palin also should put a stop to aerial gunning of wolves. Embracing Alaska's animals with a kind hand, in my view, would be a noble deed.
