KOTZEBUE -- An Anchorage man has been charged with guiding a big-game hunt near Kotzebue without a license, Alaska State Troopers said.
Gerald Gibby, 46, faces nine charges, which include falsely representing himself as a big-game guide.
Troopers say that in the fall of 2006, Gibby guided three Nevada hunters on a caribou and grizzly hunt along the Noatak River. The hunters shot and killed multiple caribou during the trip. Gibby also killed a grizzly.
Gibby was paid more than $20,000 for the hunt.
He is scheduled for a court appearance on the charges in late April. |
