The areas of new injury were at the most distally extreme points on the sides of her head, and were probably caused by Maggie rubbing the sides of her head against something abrasive like a concrete wall.

All of her new injuries looked to be at sites where she had been previously injured in May.  Perhaps they were irritating her.

Note that her ears are tightly folded against her head.  The weather on June 18th was moderately cool (60 degrees??).  Never once during the hour or so that I observed her did I see her flap her ears.  Perhaps she was feeling cold?  At one point she went to the door of her indoor enclosure and stood there briefly.
