Man, Not Wolves, to Blame for Problems

Letters to the Editor / Juneau Empire / December 10, 2003

The control of predators for the financial gain of commercialized hunting is lame. It is time for federal intervention to halt the wolf kill.

Man is killing off the environment - that is what is destroying the wildlife, not a wolf hunting to eat. At the risk of being disowned, I can relate to all facts of wanton wildlife carnage. Men who kill for the braggart rights of horns and furs. I have lived in the Northwest corner of North America my entire life and have walked with wolves and cougars my whole life. Fed plenty of both lots of refuse from deer kills.

I see Murkowski and his daughter as detrimental to the Earth's survival. The wanton killing by the logging companies of the 70s and 80s is what killed off the Prince of Wales and other island deer herds. Man is what is destroying the grass- and leaf-eaters, not the wolf. Think about this the next time you vote.

Remember the way Arnold's movies portrayed our government? Well it is happening with the Republican Apartheid Rule of Alaska. The GOP - what I would opine as ungodly ones - needs to be eradicated from our government and the people's party inserted. I watched a family of local tar-heel boys poach a mass amount of elk in the Noocksack Basin in the mid 80s. Should we open the season on poachers too? They kill for profit. A wolf kills to eat.

Quit killing God's dogs.
