Nobody Owns the Wolves; Nature's Doing Fine Without Meddling

Letters to the Editor / Anchorage Daily News / January 2, 2004

I have a big problem with the people writing to complain that wolf control is Alaska's business, not Friends of Animals'. Isn't it obvious this isn't anyone's business? It's not like we own the wolves!

So if you're going to kill 40-plus wolves to control the environment, think about how killing the same number of those other big moose predators, humans, would be labeled murder and get you thrown in jail for the rest of your life (or killed). Nature's been doing just fine for billions of years without us meddling in animal control, so why start messing things up now?
