Jan. 29 - The group Friends of the Animals is planning more howl-ins for this weekend.

Protests against the state's aerial wolf control program are being planned in Sitka, as well as nationwide, including Las Vegas, Nev., Youngstown, Ohio, Corvallis, Ore., and Saint Petersburg, Fla.

At the howl-ins, people mail postcards that urge the Murkowski administration to cancel the program, saying they will not travel to Alaska until the practice is stopped.

Friends of the Animals say about 60,000 protest postcards have already been sent to the governor.
In the past, Gov. Frank Murkowski has said he's concerned about boycotts, but will keep the policy in place. --
