Predator Control Headline Biased; Newspaper Should Remain Neutral

Letters to the Editor /Anchorage Daily News / March 24, 2003

Why is the Daily News taking a side on the wolf control issue? I'm referring to the recent story "Predators face another hard hit" of March 15. Why not include "Moose finally get a break"?

The hunting area (16B) you refer to has been closed for registration moose hunting, and the population is still on a heavy decline. Who cares about the moose or calves? Let the wolves thrive until there are no more moose, and then maybe we'll do something about it. I'm not writing to argue the issue, but as a lifelong Alaskan, I'm tired of the Daily News taking a side on issues and not remaining neutral when it comes to heavy political arguments. Please keep this in mind when you headline your next controversial story.
